Hi, I'm Helen,

Hey, I’m Helen aka Helly and I’m a 42 year old girl racer. I’ve been a horse girl all my life until I started racing 10 years ago in autograss. I was absolutely clueless! It took me 3 years and a change of class to actually learn how to race properly and since then, I’ve earned many club champ titles. My biggest achievements have been becoming the UK autograss series ladies stockhatch champion 2 years in a row and overall ladies champion in 2023.

I’ve also dabbled in circuit racing (but can’t afford it!) competing in an all girl’s team in the Mini Grand 24 hour race at Snetterton. I’ve also done many autotests with the MG car club, becoming the fastest lady in the California Cup 5 times in a row!

But I always stick with autograss because it’s just soooo much fun and completely achievable on a low wage.

Becoming a Purple Helmet ambassador is very exciting as their slogans resonate highly with me. I absolutely LOVE innuendo and the fact they support girl racers so I jumped at the chance of supporting them.
